I’ve been at work an hour and the headache is slowly starting to diminish. I spent the last hour longingly looking over at the couch, debating on whether or not to take up that offer for a nap, but ultimately decided against it. I kept trying to focus on my task at hand, looking for a supply distributor, reasonably priced but good quality for parts for our foreign cars we service on a regular basis. But my thoughts did not want to comply with what I needed to do, instead they kept drifting to my plans for tonight with Damien.

I hear a light tapping on the door, before it slowly opens and Ryder enters, a mug of coffee in his hands.

“I thought you might want some more coffee.” He says in a hushed tone.

“Thank you, that is so kind of you.” I blush.

He moves forward across the room, placing the mug on the table in front of me and pulls the chair in front of the desk to the side before lowering himself in it. Guess he is staying for a minute, and all I can think is lucky me.

“How is the search for a new distributor coming?” He asks, and I feel myself deflate a little. He is merely staying to discuss work.

“Good, I think this one is actually good. Great reviews, good quality products and reasonable prices. I think we may have a winner.”

“Great, go ahead and place a small order. We will give them a try and if we get good feedback from the guys and the customers then we will switch to them as a permanent supplier.” He says with a smile, and I notice him tapping his fingers on his thigh, like he has a nervous tic.

“Is something wrong?” I ask anxiously, hoping it isn’t in regards to my job. I mean I thought I was doing a good job. If it’s the headache, I am still working and everyone gets them. So I’m not sure what’s wrong.

He takes a deep breath, before he begins to speak.

“I was wondering if you may be free tomorrow night? Maybe go see a movie, have some dinner, or both?”

“Oh, um… Are you sure that would be appropriate? I am your employee.” I ask, noticing him looking intently at me before shaking his head.

“Well, I have gone to dinner and seen movies with the other guys that work here. They never complained so I am going to take that as yes, it is appropriate.” He laughs and I am stuck, he has me there.

“Okay, well I guess. I have to check if my friend can watch my daughter so I will need to get back to you with a definitive answer.” I tell him, finding it hard to fight my attraction to him and the heat that is growing between my legs. Trying to ease the ache, I gently rub my legs against each other.

I see Ryder move at the same time and I swear he sniffs the air, before exhaling deeply.
